In compliance with our ISO 17100:2015 Certification, we adhere to the translation industry’s best practices to deliver optimum quality translations to our clients. With the accessibility of machine translation, as well as unqualified translators offering their services online, it is more important than ever to ensure that you choose a professional translation company that you can trust.
The ISO standards are designed to ensure that products, services, and systems are safe, reliable, and of high quality. Within the translation industry, ISO refers to the set of standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization specifically for translation services. The ISO 17100:2015 standard defines the requirements for the processes, resources, and quality control measures that a translation service provider should implement in order to deliver high-quality translation services. It covers aspects such as the qualifications and competence of translators, project management, quality assurance, confidentiality, and customer service. Compliance with ISO 17100:2015 ensures that the translation service provider follows recognised industry best practices.
Determining how to charge for a translation can depend on various factors, including industry practices, client preferences, and the complexity of the project.
Translations are charged on a word count basis, which means the charge and cost is based on the number of words in the source text. The total word count is typically determined using specialized translation software or word counting tools.
For smaller or more straightforward projects there are minimum flat fees. In addition to translation, we also offer services such as proofreading, revision and DTP which are charged at an hourly rate.

In compliance with ISO standards, all translations undergo a 3-step process: Translation, Editing and Proofreading (TEP).
All in-house project managers are linguists themselves and they will take the time to review the source files to pre-empt any possible issues and get back to you with any queries about the text in a timely manner.
There are no hidden costs. Expedited fees are quoted in advance for translations which require overnight or weekend work.
Delivery timings depend on several factors, including the length and complexity of the text, the language pair involved, the subject matter and the availability of resources. For short documents, the turnaround time may be 1 – 2 days. For larger and more complex single or multiple language projects such as technical manuals, magazines, web/app localisation, we will agree the project schedule with you in advance.
For most documents, timeframes are established at quotation stage by the project manager after receipt of the text, analysis of the content and liaison with the designated linguists.
In general, we expect to deliver 2000 words in 2-3 working days. If you have a specific deadline, please let the Project Manager know and we will do our best to meet this.. Please get in touch via our Contact Form to discuss your requirements and obtain a free quotation for your translation project.

Yes, at Etymax we provide certified translation services.
On request, all translations can be provided with an accompanying certificate of translation, stating that the translation is a true, complete, and accurate representation of the original (source) text. The certificate states that the translation has been performed in compliance with ISO-17100:2015 standards, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy, and can be submitted to regulatory authorities. Certificates of translation provide peace of mind to clients who require legal, medical, financial documents or other sensitive material, knowing that their translations have been handled with the utmost care and professionalism.
Certified translations differ from notarised translations which require validation by a notary public. This is a service the we are proud to provide to our oversees and national clients.
